Penarth House

This project involved the construction of a new commercial office extension (gross of 75m2) situated to the rear elevation of Penarth House, Otterbourne, Winchester.

The project was carried out in under a 3 month period . We were careful to  avoid unnecessary disruption to the client and users of the existing facility, This was a very important factor in that the building was in operation as a children’s day nursery so the Health and Safety issues were of the upmost importance to the occupier.

The building consists of main office and meeting room, benefiting from extended kitchen facilities, two file stores and toilet facilities. The entire project was completed before the two buildings were linked together so accuracy and timing were very important to the user.

The structure is a combination of masonry sub structure and timber framed walls built in a finished with a rendered plinth and light sawn cedar cladding complete with aluminium windows through out
The roof consists of a specially designed flat roof system with parapet detail designed with all falls toward outlet gutters at each flank wall , the roof covering was by Sarnafil membrane system..

This project had its challenges for example access to the site was through the children’s nursery car park therefore deliveries had to be well coordinated and managed in a timely fashion.

The user and client were very happy that we delivered on time and to price.
